JosephKunz.com is the author website of Joseph C. Kunz, Jr. I want this website to be readable and usable by as many people as reasonably possible, including readers who use screen readers, keyboard navigation, magnification, or other assistive tools.

1. My Approach

This is a simple, text-focused website built with standard HTML and CSS. It is designed to be read, not to be navigated through complex menus, scripts, or interactive features. In building and maintaining it, I have tried to follow the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.1 at Level AA as a reference, while recognizing that the site is maintained by one person and is not formally audited.

2. Accessibility Features

Where reasonably possible, this website is built to include the following:

Pages that can be navigated with a keyboard, including the site menu and links.
Descriptive alternative text for meaningful images.
Clear headings and a consistent page structure so that readers and assistive technologies can move through content in a logical order.
Text that can be resized in the browser without loss of content or function.
Sufficient color contrast between text and background.
A layout that adjusts to phones, tablets, and desktop screens.
Respect for a reader’s “reduced motion” preference where the site uses movement or transitions.

3. Known Limitations

Some content on this website may not yet meet every accessibility goal. Examples may include older pages, decorative images, or documents and materials created before this statement was written. I work to improve these as I find them.

4. Third-Party Content and Links

This website links to third-party websites and services (for example, Amazon, Goodreads, Facebook, and LinkedIn) and loads web fonts from Google. I do not control the accessibility of those websites or services and cannot guarantee that they meet the same standards.
